Napoleonic Total War III is the latest Napoleonic modification developed by The Lordz Modding Collective (LMC), based on Creative Assembly’s latest title Napoleon: Total War. NTW3 is an in-depth modification and the result of 4 years of development (since 2010), bringing you, as always, the most historically accurate and breathtaking multiplayer experience to date. A result of years of research and development, Napoleonic Total War 3 gives a completely new experience of the game. This mod is a complete overhaul aimed at giving you the most realistic and historically accurate experience of Napoleon: Total War. DarthMod Napoleon (DMN) is a standalone modification for Napoleon: Total War, which aims to bring the gameplay experience to a whole new level. Created by modders DARTH VADER & husserlTW, DMN is a modification, that features vast amounts of gameplay tweaks, graphical tweaks, new units, new playable factions & AI fixes.
History
Following the release of previous DarthMod titles, DMN was released at the end of 2011 & got its own forum at the start of 2012 in January.
Description
DMN is a modification intended to enhance the experience of playing NTW. This is done by focusing on gameplay, graphical & AI problems in the vanilla version of NTW, which are then rooted out, fixed & further enhanced. DMN features all of these & numerous other enhancements in one package to make a simple & clean install.

Features
DMN introduces a lot of new features & a bunch of older features as well, that have been further enhanced. The features in DMN have been categorized below:
Land Battles
- Realistic movement rates, acceleration and physics effects provide natural looking visuals.
- Melee fights have been made more cinematic & charging has been tweaked to be more powerful, especially for some cavalry units.
- Realistic musket fire based on unit's accuracy and weapon characteristics.
- Cannons have been tweaked to fire more realistic trajectories and longer ranges.
- Morale effects are more dynamic. Now, morale can affect the enemy AI's decisions on the battlefield.
- Fatigue has been made more realistic. Not only do units get tired quickly after running, they also recover faster.
- Various unit statistic changes.
- In-game battle formations aren't perfectly aligned, to create a more 'realistic' look.
- Unit experience rises more quickly.
- Grenades have been removed.
Various changes to the AI in land battles
- Battalion type attacks.
- Attacks in full unison & flanks lethally.
- Light Infantry more dangerous.
- AI artillery as a single battery.
- Smart AI general.
- Better coordinated cavalry attacks.
- Unit formations have been tweaked.
- AI assaults and firing are timed better.
- AI siege and river battles have been improved.
Naval Battles
- Ship statistics are now realistic.
- Naval morale is more dynamic (Surrender rather than fight to the death).
- Ships don't blow up as frequently.
- Cannons' solid shots do more damage to the crew and can deal lots of damage up close.
- Chains shots have been tweaked to have less range, but be more powerful.
Campaign Gameplay
- campaign AI has been improved significantly. (When to invade, defend & retreat etc..)
- AI focuses more on quality armies.
- AI bonuses per difficulty level have been removed.
- France is no longer as strong as in vanilla.
- Ships have more movement points.
- Traits increase more frequently.
- Diplomacy & allies are better.
- Government types are more diverse.
- Ministers have more bonuses.
New Playable Factions
- husserlTW's Napoleon Total Factions modification is included in DMN, which adds a lot more playable factions.
New Units
- DMN includes 142 new land units & 14 new naval units.
New Battle Effects
- Realistic smoke & visuals, blood & better explosions.

posted 01 September 2010 11:53 PM EDT (US) Haro~! Here is how to unlock all starting factions. Some of you know it already but there is so far no thread about it so I am putting it here. I have tested it personally and I assure you it works.=) 1. Go to this link. http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/mods/napoleontotalwar/mod/category2.html 2. Scroll down and download the modded files that will allow you to play as various nations. There is a total of 6 files. Here is the list. Austria_ Ottoman Empire Great Britain_ Spain_ Portugal_ Netherlands Denmark_Sweden_Prussia_Russia Oldenburg_ Mecklenburg_ Saxony_ Hessen Naples_Sicily_Papal States_Sardinia Italy Kingdom_Wurttemberg_Swiss Confederation_Bavaria 3. Unzip them using Winrar or similar programs. 4. Go to your folder called C:Program FilesNapoleon - Total Wardatacampaignsmp_eur_napoleon. 5. Find and back-up your original scripting.lua and startpos.esf files. Backing-up means to make a copy of and store it in a safe place for future uses. You will need these files if anything untoward happens which I will assure you it won't. 6. Replace your original scripting.lua and startpos.esf files with the ones you you unzipped. 6. Enjoy the changes! Just choose Single player --> Campaign of the Coalition, and you can play as those nations mentioned in the downloaded file name. NOTE* There is a limit of maximum number of factions that can be shown on the Campaign start menu (four to be precise) so you can't have all the factions at once. Here is a 'trick' to resolve that. Go ahead and do the replacing of scripting.lua and startpos.esf files with the first patch of files--lets say it is (Great Britain_ Spain_ Portugal_ Netherlands), start with each of those 4 nations and SAVE those states separately. Then replace your scripting.lua and startpos.esf files again with another patch of modded files--lets say (Oldenburg, Mecklenburg, Saxony, Hessen). Start with those factions and immediately save each one of them separately. Rinse and repeat until you saved all the factions you want to play as in the Campaign. Now finally change back the scripting.lua and startpos.esf files with you original one you backed up--just incase. Anytime you want to play, just load the corresponding save state of that nation and you can play as that nation, even if that faction is not on the Campaign start menu.
